What the app is for
Nightbook is a personal dream journal. AI interpretations are for entertainment and personal insight only. They are not prophecy, not a medical diagnosis, not psychological or psychiatric treatment, and not a substitute for professional advice. If you have concerns about your mental health, consult a professional.
The AI feature
When you ask for an interpretation, that dream's text is sent to our server and from there to Google's Gemini API; the details are in the Privacy Policy. The free tier includes a limited number of AI interpretations per month, and that limit is enforced on the server. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service; when it cannot be reached the app produces no reading and says so.
Your responsibilities
- If you have not turned on dream backup, you are responsible for backing up the data on your device; in that case the app keeps no copy of your dreams on the server. If you turn backup on, only encrypted copies are kept on the server and the key that opens them stays with you.
- You may not use the app for unlawful purposes or abuse the service (for example by flooding it with automated requests).
Account
An account is not required. You may link one with Apple, Google or email; its purpose is to carry your subscription across devices.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for the security of your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → "Delete my account". Deletion cannot be undone.
- We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (for example, attempting to use a single subscription across many accounts).
- Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription; cancellation happens through the store you installed from.
- Dream backup is optional and requires an account. If you turn it on, keeping your recovery code safe is your responsibility; if you lose the code and the device together, the encrypted dreams cannot be recovered and we have no way to recover them either.
Subscription (where offered)
Premium features are offered through an in-app subscription. It is billed to the store account you installed from (App Store or Google Play) and renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled. Cancellations and refunds follow that store's rules.
"Unlimited" in Premium means unlimited for personal use. To prevent abuse and automated requests, monthly fair-use limits apply: dream interpretations are counted separately from the group made up of the monthly report, the dream-map reading and personal symbol analysis. These limits are set far above normal use and reset at the start of each month.
Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is". We are not liable for data loss, device failure, or the content of AI output.
Changes
If these terms change, we publish the current text in the app.
